In the early 1800's a group of believers joined together under a bush arbor to worship God and share in Christian fellowship. A white frame structure was soon built and the believers became known as Ebenezer Church. Ebenezer Methodist Church was established in 1883, when Ebenezer joined the Methodist Conference.
Through the years Ebenezer has come from being a "Second Sunday Preaching" church to a full member of the LaGrange District of the North Georgia Conference of the United Methodist Church.
That white structure built in the 1880's has been through a lot of changes. The building itself has been through major repairs and remodeling. A two story addition housing the Fellowship hall and Sunday School rooms was added to the back of the church, a steeple and chimes were added, and the last addition was stained glass windows.
The one thing through all the years that has not changed about that white frame church called Ebenezer, built so many years ago, is that it has continued to be the church home to a body of believers who came together in Christian fellowship.
